The popularity of personal training is ever increasing, because there are many
advantages to having a personal trainer. Even though the methods
and training styles of personal trainers are vast and varied
(largely depending on where they studied fitness) trainers
provide clients with the information and motivation they need
to achieve their health and fitness goals more effectively.
Personal training is no longer just for athletes or models.
It is for anyone who is interested in taking control of
their health and general well being, because regular exercise
not only increases self-esteem, it also helps to prevent
(among other conditions) arthritis and osteoporosis in later
years. Which is great news to us all.
Starting out for the first time, we don't know exercises.
We think we don't have the right clothes to wear to exercise,
and we are embarrassed to be seen exercising next to all
the super fit young people. Exercise at a private personal
training studio can solve these problems.
By exercising once a week for 30 minutes in a private
studio, you can achieve all your health and fitness goals
in a non-threatening environment. The sessions are one-on-one,
so it doesn't matter what you wear, or if you don't know
what to do. Your personal trainer is there for you, and
will plan an exercise program to suit your specific needs
and abilities. So you barely have to think! Just sit back
and enjoy the stretching and massage.
I also provide information on nutrition and stress management,
to ensure that clients not only look good, but feel fantastic!
With no joining fees, and the freedom to stop training at
any time if necessary! There is no obligation, and only
a small price to pay for better health, and improved quality
of life. (The cost of personal training generally varies
from about $35 to $50 per session.)
Training on their own, clients often find it difficult
to stay motivated. As a personal trainer, I not only keep
my clients motivated, I ensure they only do exercises they
enjoy, and those that will give them functional strength
in their daily lives. Clients also find it easy to commit
to one session a week, knowing that they can change the
day and time of training when necessary.
A personal training session is usually based on developing
strength. But when you work on building muscle strength,
what most people don't know is you are also strengthening
your bones. This is because the stress placed on your muscles
during training, causes stress on the bones under that muscle.
And just like the muscle, bones respond to training by getting
stronger.
This becomes increasingly important as we age, because
poor bone mineral density can lead to problems such as arthritis
and osteoporosis. However, it is never too late to do something
about it. For even those who already have joint aches and
pains can reduce this discomfort by starting an exercise
program that will help to strengthen their muscles and bones.
None of us are getting younger. After the age of 20 we
lose a kilogram of muscle every 5-10 years. That's right,
we lose muscle. Just with the aging process. Some women
worry that strength training with make them look buff, or
too muscular. But that couldn't be further from the truth.
Women need to strength train just to compensate for the
amount of muscle that is lost through the aging process.
It is nearly impossible to end up with big muscles like
a man. For one, we don't have the right amount of hormones
(testosterone) in our bodies for that to be possible.
So, don't let an old person move into your body. And remember,
"to get something you've never had, you may have to do something
you've never done".
Until next time, take care, and keep smiling.
